Services

I offer barefoot hoof trimming for horses of all sizes, donkeys, and goats! I will also train your horse for you, or give you one on one lessons with your horse! Here's a little bit more about what I bring to the table:

Trimming

I specialize in barefoot trimming and hoof rehabilitation. Though I am not yet certified, I am an intermediate student through PHCP (Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners). Feel free to check out my profile on the PHCP page. Hoofcare provider, Deanna Stoppler, got me started with trimming. I had been trimming my own horses as well as for some friends since 2022 and I started my hoof care business in early 2024. I offer hoof boot fitting for those who would like to ride their horses with hoof protection as well as for those who need rehabilitation boots for sore horses. I hope to also offer glue on shoes as well as casting within the next year or so. I firmly believe that the more often you get your horse trimmed, the healthier their hooves will be, so I try to keep my trim cycles at a maximum of six to seven weeks. I have a holistic approach to trimming, meaning that I take diet, exercise, living conditions, and environment into account when it comes to hoof health and my trim. I am currently accepting new clients within an hour of Enosburg Falls, VT.

Training

I do a lot of positive reinforcement trick training and liberty in my free time. For pictures and videos of this, please see my FaceBook page. If you would like help with trick training your horse or just don’t know how to get started, I’m here to help! As for horses who are struggling with basic ground or riding training, whether I use positive reinforcement or not is purely situational. Every horse is an individual who learns in their own way, has their own personality traits, and has their own set of strengths and areas where they need help. My job is to help the horse learn in a way that is constructive to them, while still allowing them to be an individual with their own personality and respectful opinions. I do not believe that horses are supposed to be robots. I strongly feel that they should be able to have a voice in this life. With that said, it’s my job to educate them on what they need to know in order to thrive in this world and set them up for success in whatever job it is that they need to do.

Pain cannot be trained. If your horse is acting out due to a pain response, I will not work with the horse until he is sound. I do not have my own facility, so I will travel to your horse and provide training at your home/barn. I also offer lessons for horses and riders who may be struggling to see eye to eye or need help in a specific area. My training sessions/lessons are typically about an hour long and cost $35 per session, though there may be a travel fee added if you are outside of my typical travel distance.
